Self Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPs)

SIPPs are a form of Personal Pension, structured to allow greater flexibility in investment choice. The average SIPP investor tends to be a high net worth individual with a good understanding of market linked investment or a professional person who uses a SIPP to buy commercial property for use as office premises.

SIPPs can invest directly in stocks and shares rather than via a collective investment fund and have the ability to purchase land for commercial development and commercial property (business premises).

SIPPs allow clients to manage their own investments, either by self-selection or on an advisory basis (with the appointment of a fund manager or Stockbroker).

SIPP investments depend on the provider’s terms and conditions and are more expensive than standard personal pension plans.

For businessmen, a SIPP can be the ideal vehicle, allowing the purchase of business premises and the facility to rent the property back to the firm. Not only will their own pension contributions go towards building up the pension fund, but rent received from the property will also be added. Financially it can be very attractive, but it has to be done correctly and specialist advice is recommended. Jeffreys Henry Financial Services has expert knowledge in this area.
